Georgia will host the European Youth Athletics Championship


European Youth Athletics Championships will be opened on July 14. Construction company MAQRO construction supports the championship and is the platinum sponsor. A memorandum was signed between MAQRO Construction Company and the organizer of the championship. "It is an honor for us to be sponsors of the 2016 Athletics Championship. According to the organizers, the 2016 European Youth Athletics Championships will be opened on July 13, at 20:16. 52 countries and more than 1200 athletes will take part in the games and competitions that will start on July 14. They also reported that Georgia will be represented by 12 athletes: Nino Tsikvadze - hammer throw, Lasha-Giorgi Gurgenidze - hammer throw, Badri Qimadze - shot put/discus throw, Davit Ochigava- - hammer throw, Saba Soselia - pole vault, Giorgi Ketiladze - shot put, Roman Badridze - long jump, Giorgi Davitashvili – discus throw, Davit Lukava - 400 m/hurdles, Saba Khvichava -2000 m/obstacles, Ivan Dzodzuashvili and Tamta Gviniashvili -2000 m/obstacles.

"Tbilisi 2016" is the most significant event of the year that has been held in Georgia. It is also a historic event, as it is being held in the capital of Georgia. Such cooperation will bring many successes both to Georgian sports and Georgian business", - said Aleksi Akhvlediani, President of the Georgian Athletics Federation.
